SERVICES - Version Upgrades

Upgrading your Livelink environment to the latest version can be a daunting task. There are many tests, steps and checks that must be done to ensure that your upgrade is smooth and successful. Our consultants have a wealth of experience in providing smooth transitions for our customers. We follow a well documented process that includes the following steps:

    • A close evaluation of the existing Livelink environment, including all installed modules and customizations (including Oscript).
    • Reviewing Open Text documentation for each optional or custom module to identify patches used for the upgrade.
    • Database upgrades if required.
    • Custom code and Oscript modifications if required.
    • Performing test upgrades on NCI servers to test the process as well as to create detailed, step by step upgrade scripts.
    • Update your Production data onto your Test environment so that the upgrade scripts can be accurately tested and modified as needed.
    • Development of detailed rollback plans that are also tested on the Test environment.
    • Upgrade of the Production environment following the well tested scripts.
    • Documentation to familiarize your user base with the upcoming changes to the Livelink interface.
